Prof (Dr) Rakesh Patil

Dr. Rakesh Patil is a distinguished academician, researcher, administrator, author, and educationist with 29+ years of rich experience in teaching, research, academic administration, and institutional leadership. He currently serves as Director & Professor at SSR Institute of Management & Research, Silvassa (UT of DNH & DD).

Dr. Patil has held several key leadership positions, including Dean (Administration), Mentor, In-charge Principal, Director, and Head of Department at reputed Engineering and Management institutions. His extensive experience encompasses academic administration, curriculum development, institutional planning, faculty development, preparation of study materials, and organization of seminars, conferences, Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs), and other academic initiatives.

He is a recognized Research Guide/Supervisor in Management at Savitribai Phule Pune University, Pune. Under his guidance, Seven scholars have been awarded Ph.D. degrees in Management, while five scholars are currently pursuing their Ph.D. Dr. Patil has made substantial contributions to research and academic literature, having authored seven books and published more than 121 research papers  in reputed national and international journals.

Dr. Patil has also made significant contributions to academic publishing and has served as  Editor-in-Chief and Editor of several international academic journals, including International Journal of Economics & Commerce (IJEC), International Journal of Emerging Trends in Management (IJTEM), International Journal for Software Testing (IJST), and International Journal for Computer Application & Management (IJCAM).

His international academic exposure includes visits to Teesside University, UK; Tunku Abdul Rahman University, Malaysia; and National University of Singapore, facilitating academic exchange and global collaboration. He currently serves as Secretary of the Maharashtra Economic & Commerce Association (MECA) and is associated with professional bodies including the Indian Economic Association (IEA), Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), and Computer Society of India (CSI).

His academic and professional contributions have been recognized through prestigious honours, including Best Educator of the Year – 2011 by IBC, UK; Best Educator Award by Sakal Media Group; Best Leader Award; and Best Director Award by Star Education Awards in association with the Education Department, Government of Maharashtra.

Dr. Patil has also served as Chairman and Member of Boards of Studies of various Universities contributing to curriculum development, academic planning, and quality enhancement in higher education. His key areas of teaching and research include General Management, Organizational Behaviour, E-Learning, E-Governance, Management Information Systems, Databases, Software Engineering, and technology-enabled management and education. With a strong combination of academic excellence, research expertise, leadership, and innovation, Dr. Patil continues to contribute significantly to the advancement of higher education and management education.
